iPhone 6 Plus のレビュー記事で目にした “phablet” の意味とは？
先日、iPhone 6 と iPhone 6 Plus が発表されました。
iWatch ならぬ Apple Watch も発表されましたが、それはまた別の機会に取り上げるとして、今私は11月の自分の誕生日に iPhone 6 をお願いするか iPhone 6 Plus をお願いするかで、めちゃくちゃ悩んでおります。
そこで、いろいろ記事を読んでいると、ギズモードの記事に “phablet” という言葉が登場しました。

“phablet” は最近生まれた造語です。
phablet: a mobile device that combines the features of a smartphone and a tablet computer and is larger than a typical smartphone but not as large as a typical small tablet
（スマートフォンより大きく、タブレットよりは小さくて、スマートフォンとタブレットの特徴を兼ね備えたモバイル機器のことを言うんですね。）
つまり、冒頭の文章はそれぞれこう書かれていたのでした。

最初に iPhone 6 Plus を見た時は「でかっ！」と思ったのですが、記事にも書かれているように、「電話」ではなく電話とタブレットの中間の「ファブレット」と考えれば、そんなに悪くないのかもしれません。
