動詞で使われる “bus” の意味とは？
先日ベーカリー・カフェに入店し、アイスコーヒーを注文して席に座ると、ちっちゃなサインを発見しました。
“bus” は動詞で使われると、「（レストランで）テーブルの上を片づける」という意味になります。
1. to take someone somewhere by bus
- to take children on a school bus to a different area to go to school, so that children from different backgrounds can be educated together
2. [AMERICAN] to remove dirty dishes from the tables in a restaurant（この言い方はアメリカ特有なんですね！）
つまりちっちゃなサインには、こう書かれていたのでした。
Thank you for bussing your table!
（テーブルの上を片づけてくださってありがとうございます！）
こう書かれていると気持ちよく片づけてしまうので不思議です。
